See how to separate the design, authoring and editing processes, and incorporate Microsoft Word documents. Use InCopy to allow designers to synchronize editing with Adobe InDesign.

  • The InCopy Workspace
    • Understanding how InCopy fits into the production process
    • Setting up you user identification
    • Working with tools, controls and panels
  • Navigating Your Documents
    • Viewing and editing your document in the story and galley view
    • Changing how you read the document with the appearance toolbar
    • Previewing the appearance of the document in the layout view
  • InCopy Workflow
    • Creating an InCopy document from scratch
    • Importing Microsoft Word or Excel documents
    • Using the find/change features
    • Working with spell check and thesaurus
    • Keeping track of edits with the track changes features
    • Accepting changes as an individual user
    • Using notes to communicate in InCopy or between InCopy and InDesign
  • Formatting Type and Working with Images
    • Character formatting of text
    • Paragraph formatting of text
    • Inserting special text characters
    • Using paragraph styles (style sheets)
    • Copy fitting the text on the pages
    • Placing images into the layout and transforming and fitting images
    • Working with text macros
  • Output
    • Sending the assignment back to InDesign
    • Printing your text view, layout, comments and changes
    • Creating PDFs from the layout from InCopy
